The Water Sport base

Swim in the largest lake in Auvergne ?
The bathing area is also 50m from the hotel, with a beach to relax in the sun. Trained instructors constantly keep watch over swimmers for everyone’s safety and wellbeing.
The Lake has been awarded the Pavillon Bleu, which testifies the quality of its water.

Starting point is about 400m from the hotel. They will take you through the forest on an easy to follow path. From 3 years old onwards, kids can enjoy a 1km stroll on a donkey with an adult accompanying them.

A treetop adventure park is available for kids and teenagers, again 500m from the hotel.
Just a little further away, about 800m from the hotel, the Arboris forest is home to a funpark: lasergame, escape game, both in the heart of the forest.
For our trekking friends, the hotel is on the GR30/GR40, and the starting point to numerous bike hikes. All these hikes can be done with a donkey as well! Some of our partners can setup all inclusive vacations for you.
Bike Rental
New this year, Louis has set up shop and you can rent a mountain bike for a few hours or a day to ride the surrounding paths. You can ask us to prebook your bikes upon booking your room.
Orienteering
Since the beginning of the summer, 4 new permanent courses are accessible in the Aydat / Rouillas Bas forest. Come and practice your sense of orientation.
All 4 courses are open to beginners as well as accomplished orienteers, and can be done solo, with a family or among friend from 7 years old onwards.

The Chaine des Puys and the Limagne tectonic fault
Unesco World Heritage site and considered an exceptional geological site. From Aydat, you can visit the Puy de Combegrasse, the Puy de Vichatel, the Aydat lake of course, and so much more!
The tourist office, 50m from the hotel, is the best place to prepare your visit.
Vulcania, the volcano amusement park
Vulcania is a mere 20 minutes car ride. A unique park to discover the the volcanoes, it includes the Kids’ city, 3D movies, and a great outdoor park.

The Puy-de-Dôme
The famous Puy de Dôme is a 20 minutes drive away. Once there, you can either walk up, or take the Panoramic train, the Panoramique des Dômes.

Discover our romanesque churches trails
Through the romanesque era (XIth and XII centuries), Auvergne enjoyed a remarquable spiritual and artistic bloom. From the hotel, you can discover some of these remarkable structures.
20 minutes from the hotel, Notre Dame d’Orcival is one of the five better known Romanesque churches in Auvergne and was built in the XIIth century. Very homogeneous, it has barely been altered through time, and was preserved from any expansions by its large original size. The interior decoration, however, has disappeared.
Notre Dame d’Orcival has been classified as a historical monument since 1840 and holds a magnificent statue of the Virgin Mary in the choir.
